My house should be totally dark for less than a minute. I intend to head to my sister's home in St. Genevieve, MO which is only a few miles from the point of peak darkness/time (Carbondale, IL). Just got a chance to look at the video. The time, energy and inventiveness that went into making this is astounding. I didn't think the marble machine was actually making any of the sounds until I caught some of the "how it works" videos. I didn't watch through all of the supplementary videos, but I still think some significant portion of the music is produced outside of this machine...the beat is too regular and notes too precisely placed to be produced solely by hand cranked machine with baltic birch gears made from a router, IMO. Still, the performance is mind-boggling and reminds me of the genius of JS Bach.Comment
