You need to put a jumper on J6 corresponding which ever input you are using (spdif 1 or 2), and then on J1 you need the jumper shown in the pic on the left of J1, above "3" and below "Outputs". That sends the miniDIGI input to the 2x4 as I2S.
A couple of other things to check:
- Make sure inputs/outputs are not muted in the GUI interface
- I2S Master/Slave jumper is in place? See miniDIGI manual.
- On the GUI "system settings" tab at bottom, do you have the "External Volume Control" button enabled but no potentiometer connected? Audio volume will be barely audible in that case.
- Try the other SPDIF input, and switch the jumper on J6
- Wiggle all the jumpers up and down in case they are not making good electrical contact.
- Wiggle all the edge connectors and make sure they are securely plugged in - these require some force
- Confirm you have spdif data by using another component that can receive spdif and product audio
Hope that helps...
MiniDSP has a forum, but expect quite slow response time there, e.g. several days (at least that was my experience in the past when posting there).
