  • Accuton grills

    A couple of Q.

Is there any way to remove the grills(non Cell)? or are they firmly fixed on
Also are the cones themselves pure white or off white? Hard to tell from.pics as the black grill gives a pale grey appearance

They are glued on and with good reason. The aluminum oxide cones are VERY FRAGILE. In fact, overdrive has shattered cones in horror stories past on here. If you drop a driver or quickly set them down with a hard stop on the surface, the cones are likely toast. If you value your drivers, please leave the cones protected.

Oh- and they are aluminum-oxide white.

        Alright, then think about this...

If you want to mask the look of the driver completely, then paint the grills white. If you want to be able to see past the grille and look at the cone, leave them black. It is much harder to see something in shadow past something light and bright. From working in factories in the past, and safety yellow expanded steel being over and in front of black/shadowed press operations, I would find it hard to view the splendor of Accuton cones should they have white grilles.

Yes good points, altho the all black versions do have a 'stealth' coolness. When I saw the 'new' ceramic white SB's it got me thinking.

Btw Do you have experience with writing Press Releases? That last sentence is superb.

Thank you for the compliment, but no experience in that regard.
