To all regarding the late notice... my honest apologies. I've been insanely busy with work and family, and actually didn't even think this would happen. I keep in touch with Mark at Mensicus simply because he's an awesome guy and I love building speakers (even when I'm not building speakers ). I had a few guys contact me asking me about whether or not this would happen recently. Seeing as I missed every show last year, I wanted to get together with you guys and hear what you've been working on, so Mark and I got together and made it happen. Part of the early date or short notice relates to not wanting to infringe on the IA get together, the KY get together, and beyond that not wanting to put it off too much more or it probably wouldn't have happened. So... those are my excuses . Hopefully, God willing things will level off for me and I can get back to this hobby that I love so much.

So, again, I apologize to those who can't make it due to the short notice, I'll definitely miss hanging out with you. I'm definitely looking forward to a laid back weekend of familiar faces, new faces, hearing what you guys pour you hearts into, and just having fun and the comradery that comes with you guys involved with this fantastic hobby .

Edit: kenrhodes ... this is practically in your backyard on Saturday!! I hope to see you there!! Friday we'll be at Meniscus if you're down for some music and audiophile tonic

Normally, I believe, the Meniscus/DIY Grand Rapids is held in September. This is because there is no AC in Meniscus' listening room, and the multiple people and gear make it extraordinarily warm in there. The later the event without infringing on others allows for a cooler setting, regardless the venue. I see it'll be in the 80s this weekend here, so hopefully a bit cooler up there.

      Later,

Unfortunately it's supposed to be lower 80s tomorrow. But, it has been cool here lately so the building shouldn't be heated up too much, and tomorrow evening it should cool down into the 70s. Saturday won't matter because we'll have the room at the hotel. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!

I agree that the restaurant last time svcked. Problem is... it's the only sitdown within walking distance, otherwise it'll be fast food. Which I'm fine with, but curious what you guys want. If we're willing to all drive 5 to 7 miles there are a LOT of options.

A few miles is no big deal to me. If you are looking for a headcount, I will have me +2

I don't remember the name but it was right across from the drive to the hotel. Small place that served craft beer. Though they were out of most of that and food!

s7horton the name of the place was Crankers on 68th ST, the place was pretty small and the service wasn't overly stellar. I'd love suggestions!! I was thinking Kalamazoo and M-6 isn't very far from there. I know there are some places on 54th ST too. But... feel free to offer suggestions!! I'll try to call ahead and let them know we'll have a larger group for lunch once we find a place that everyone is good with.

Monelli's at Byron Center and 56th has good craft beer on tap. They have pizza and bar food. Cabana is at 60th and Kalamazoo. They have Mexican but a limited craft beer selection. Peppinos is at M-6 and Kalamazoo. They have good craft beer selection and good pizza among other things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

With the entrance to M-6 being right at the hotel, each of those places is less than a 10 minute drive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Thank you s7horton ! If you had to pick one, which one would it be? I love pizza and Mexican, and food in general, so I'm OK with anything as long as it isn't vegan . No room to breathe was the worst part of our experience last time.

Mex or Pizza are always good.

Of those three, I prefer peppinos, but wanted to make sure there were options. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
