Could this be the V2 version of the amplifier in module format?

      Dave,

Not sure of course, but I kind of doubt this is the V2 for the DTA-2.1 discussed here based on Matt's description of the pending changes:

We are currently testing a V2 of this amp (I know I know - V2 already...blah blah) that has an adjustable low pass. Everything is identical, just the addition of a small pot on the front. I cannot give you a time period but I'm just letting you know we are listening. Probably a couple months. -MP

I'm thinking that if everything really is 'identical' just maybe with one more small pot (where will they fit it? Maybe a hole with a screw adjustment?) on the front, it wouldn't be this one considering it has two extra pots and would mean a total rework of the little lights on the front.

Of course, I'm usually wrong... and looking at the dimensions... the size is right. I also like that switch on the top that MillstoneMike suspects will change the HP frequency to follow the sub freq. adjustment: http://techtalk.parts-express.com/fo...08#post1355408 (different amp board, but VERY similar)

Things are getting interesting little-amp wise right?

I guess I will just have to order a couple and try them out.

I have a box full of HP docking station power supplies just looking for new purpose in life. Looks like some new speakers for the patio are in the near future.

No, that's not the PCB in the BT2.1. Both Tom and I have had the BT2.1 open and the BT2.1 PCB is very different. And I agree with Tom's thinking on the V2 description - ultimately different than the 5 pot module.

For the module pic you posted, Tom recalled that I had info the slide switch may be L-R HP. Since then there's some better info that suggests the slide switch controls whether the sub uses the LP filter or full range pass-thru. Can't be sure until someone has the module to investigate.

The HP laptop supplies (circa 19V?) will work well. Total power out will be down a bit from a true 24 V supply. With a 19 V supply ~20 W rms into 8 ohms and 40 into 4 ohms <1% THD.

            Matt,
Any updates on the progress of V2?

Maybe Dayton could get Sure to do something? A JAB3-250 and JAB3-1100 in a box with the right DSP configuration would get you 2x50 + 100W with a fully adjustable crossover point - and, with a programming cable, all the DSP you could humanly want.

Received my Dayton Audio DTA-2.1BT2 a couple days ago, but fear I'll have to return it. There is a constant static and periodic pop from the amp, whenever the Bluetooth mode is selected, with or without a Bluetooth device connected. It's audible during playback as well. The analog audio input modes don't have issues, but as soon as Bluetooth is selected, the speakers emit static. I"ll contact support to get a swap, and hope it was just a bad unit. I've been waiting for this exact product for years, so I"m still hopeful.

Don't worry, The first batch of V2 seemed to be pretty small number-wise,
you probably just got a bad unit that slipped through somehow.
The previous version was/is quiet and powerful and I think the revisions to V2 were fairly minor in scope, so it should be a winner as well.
It's a cool little bugger right?

Is there static if you take off the antenna and put your device right next to it?
