In this same new line from SB, I'm kind of excited about the 8 ohm 6" for a possible small sealed design of 12-14L.

Should do nicely, but I'm not able to model as I have no programs.

You are correct the SB17CAC 35 8 should perform extremely well in 14L sealed with an F3 of around 55hz!

This page is not as good as software but it's better than nothing!

Use the Speaker Box Designer to determine the optimal volume for your enclosure.

BassBox pro give about 62hz but simulation software is only good until it isn't! Like distortion...
      Guess xmax's age.

My guess: 15. His grammar is passable. His trolling is good.

It is really interesting that Xmax doesn't appear to understand even the simplest basics of crossover design, even when the details are presented, yet talks about it like he's an expert. This is a perfect example of the Dunning Kruger Effect if there ever was one. I would respond to the criticism with explanations if the comments seemed to have any merit, but these comments appear to lack any understanding in the subject matter at hand.

SB will have a couple of very special new tweeters out soon. You might want to wait a tad bit and see what they are, they may be hard to resist as mates for the CAC woofers. I'm not sure if I should say much more at this time.

Convince me that you know what phase response is, and then we can discuss this statement. It has been my observation that people who have no understanding of the subject refer to phase response because it is so mystical to them.

All I need to see is the wrinkle at oh I don't know say 960hz... With all due respect I don't have to like every design on this forum
and I'm guessing Frank at SB might not care for it either.

              Here you go:

              Guess xmax's age.

Oh Jeff, cmon, do tell. Is this something in addition to what they show on their site right now for new and upcoming tweeters? I know Mad is showing their new 29SDAC and a cheaper Be tweeter.

Are you at all intrigued by the new CAC 5" and 6" woofers?

Yeah, I can hand compute with the calculator and get F3 55hz. But no modeling programs presently.

Sorry I had to change the tool path on the ole router, phase in a nutshell time verses frequency from the input to output of
a device or the difference in 2 signals in the time and or frequency domain. Not everyone agrees with minimal
extra low xover frequencies especially with a compact tweeter with a Fs of 960hz. Sorry I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid.

Personally, I did not care for the Sopranos when I heard them at Indy - and I was honest with Jeff about that.

I think a certain Russian brand of ribbon tweeter would be exciting with these new woofers. Just my opinion
Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

I actually need a new mid-bass for one of my popular designs and I have been really wanting to get my hands on
the SB ceramic drivers but I'm holding out until the 8 ohm version is available because of that nice Qes.

No, just not easily available. You have to contact one of the forum members here, r-carpenter.

I have an extra pair of the first model, and a pair of the newer model to play with.
