16 dB down at Fs does not sound so good, if you look at the harmonic spikes based off the Fs
the "pad' resistor ain't so great, other than creating a flat on axis frequency response - by attenuating
FR above 2K (and of course peaking the transfer function that can be seen in the distortion profile.
I am of the opinion that while using a 4" woofer I would not put this kind of strain on the tweet (or ever).
I have now learned you are not allowed to have an opinion around here so I'm leaving it at this. I must say I was surprised
the distortion was not higher than it is. But I am not at all surprised on how the tweeter sounds
with this combination of filter and "attenuation" resistor.1 PhotoGuess xmax's age.
My guess: 15. His grammar is passable. His trolling is good.

Harmonic spikes based on Fs, what are we on about now? You've successfully shown that something that is louder has higher amplitude, well done. Where amplitude is nearly equal at 3kHz, distortion is equal as well. I still don't see "distortion caused by the resistor" which was your original statement. The tweeter transfer function is as it is to obtain the intended frequency response. With regards to distortion, the tweeter makes as much distortion as it makes any any frequency at the amplitude it plays, regardless of the filter in place. It sounds like you prefer to crossover higher, and would take a "less stressed" tweeter with the narrowing directivity and breakup distortion of the midwoofer over a lower frequency crossover, and that is fine if that's what you want to do.
You are welcome to have all the opinions you want, but we are not sheep, when you make statements that appear false with an arrogant attitude, be prepared to explain yourself or you will not be taken seriously. We are a community of speaker enthusiasts, people come here to learn and share in a friendly and polite environment, so I would say it is quite rude to call someone's design wrong, bad, poor choices, etc simply because they have made design decisions that don't agree with your design opinions.I'm not deaf, I'm just not listening!

Also, can you post the crossover that you designed xmax? I’m interested in doing a comparison.Builds - C-Killa - Speedsters - LithMTM - Talking Sticks - Pocket Rockets - Khanspires - Dayton RS Center - RS225/28A - Kairos - Adelphos - SEOS TD12X - Dayton 8 - Needles - 871S - eD6c - Overnight Sensations - Tritrix (ported) - Lineup F4 - Stentorians - The Cheapies - Tub Thumpers - Barbells - Tuba HT - Numerous subwoofers - probably missing a few...... :p
