I used a Morel CAM558 as the mid with a NeoCD1.0 ribbon. The two really work great together crossed right around 4k. Then you just need a woofer that can cross smoothly around 900 Hz. I used the Usher 8945A. It is my best sounding design to date.

good info .... i have all the parts on hand for that sim and a box with a detachable baffle that would fit the RS225 all ready to go . i may just put this together this weekend and see . Craig , did you ever use you famous maker 3" ? i believe you said in a mtm . if so what did you think ?

I used the rs225 with my 10f/cd1.0. I’m sure it’s no where near as good Craig’s design or anybody else’s on the board, but feel free to check out my transcend design in my sig for ideas if you want since you have 2 of the 3 same drivers as it.

DUDE !!!! that looks awesome !

maybe one day after i get the electro-magnetic aspect of this all i'm gonna have to spend some time learning woodworking !

this weekend i'm gonna put this together re-purposing my CC prototype box . just need to cut a baffle and cutout the mtm chamber ...

Thanks! Trust me though they only look decent from 10 feet or more away

Are you sticking with that new cc you were working on and building a new box (since you said you are repurposing it) or changing the design?

wasn't happy with the impedance in that 1st sim . i think this looks much better . what y'all think ?

Impedance looks phenomenal, definitely better than anything I’ve ever done, especially in a 3-way. Any chance you can drop that 900 hz peak down a dB or two or 2k up a touch to offset that bump and still keep the nice impedance phase?

was working on that and i'm guessing a lil filter peaking as it's rite at cross . small changes there in FR get the impedance wonky . this is where i'm at now ...

I did get the MTM enclosures built using Peerless BC25SC06-04 tweeters. Unfortunately I got side tracked with other bigger projects so they are still sitting here unmeasured :( Maybe I'll set them up and get a good set of measurements this winter.

That looks nice, I think you will have a heck of a speaker there. Once you build and tune, if you notice some sibilance on vocals or they are harsh on bright poor recordings you may want to look at pulling the wide hump from around 3-10k down a little. I’m sure this is due to the crossover and the 7k bump in the ribbons response. Your response in this area looks very similar to mine and I notice these characteristics on mine and attribute it to this bump, which I haven’t addressed yet. I adjusted the tweeter level to no end, and have it about as good as it gets without addressing the bump, but if I dove back in or did it over I personally would work on that area.

thanks .... looks like some tweaks in the tweeter caps help to flatten out that 3-5k hump but at the sake the of impedance curve . not bad at all though . definitely gives me directions to go with .
