  • Looking to replace my stock Harley Davidson Street Glide speakers

    Hi All,

I'm looking to replace my bike's stock speakers, I have been thinking about the Dayton PS65LP-4 only because they promise to be really efficient and low profile; but with that money I can easily get a set of 2-Way speakers from manufacturers like Focal, JL Audio, Kenwood, MBQuart, etc. which theoretically aren't as efficient as these but specially meant for automotive use, has anybody replaced yours or tested these Daytons and can recommend something without having to pay for those overpriced aftermarket kits?

    Thoughts?

I would think you also need to estimate the enclosure size on the bike and to see the low end response for any potential driver.

And the PS65 seems to have a pretty ragged upper end.

Never, only if I get caught but I try as hard as I can to avoid it.

I was going to suggest avoiding paper speakers if your motorcycle would ever be parked in the rain.

Ever consider a helmet with a sound system?

I do have that, I have the Sena 20S system installed in my helmet but I still want something good for the Bike itself.

LOL, that may work but only if I'm not going otherwise I couldn't throttle or clutch the bike.

a lot depends on the ambient noise level.

if you have an aftermarket exhaust that is excessively loud, then any speakers will be irrelevant.

in my hometown the police are now using dB meters to ticket motorcycles (and cars) with excessively loud exhausts. Thank goodness. So happy to get these noise polluters off the street
