  • Mass loading Stands

I have some new stands that need to be filled. What material do you folks prefer to do this?

Hmm, I don’t have a ton of money so gold and diamonds may be out. Sand may be in

Lead shot. Find a gun store that sells shot gun shell reloading supplies.

            Have Fun! Mark

I think some use kitty litter? The boxes I get for my cat sure are heavy enough!

If you use sand get play sand or sandbox sand. Regular sand can have bugs and eggs and other nastys in it. They bake play sand to sterilize it.

"Regular" Sand being cheap - I just baked the "bugs and eggs and other nastys" in the oven

I used a LOT of sand ( treating the interior of my subs )
seriously I didn't see lifeforms in my construction sand, but wanted the sand absolutely dry.

The cheap odorless Kitty litter works great and is easy to get, sand is hard to find completely dry.
                          Guess xmax's age.

200 degrees for 1 hour or until necessary ( no big deal )

Wouldn't hurt to line the inside of your stands with plastic sheeting (just use the cheap stuff from the HD paint dept) to act as a moisture barrier and to help prevent leaks.
