Perhaps starting the sweep at 400hz created some ringing or something, I will try it again @ 1K tomorrow.ÂÂÂ*
Any further impressions on the new corundum some tweeter?

I might have tested at a lower volume. [email protected]" is only [email protected],Â*about 5db lower than zaph used to test tweeters at.Â*IIRC, don't underhung motors tend to reach their limits more abruptly?Â*

That could be the case, still, the distortion in the usable range is extra low, I have not had time to do extensive testing yet.
It will happen soon with calibrated dB measurements.

Took me a while to find, but the Peerless website has pictures of the 25mm and 32mm tweeters:

This page has measured drawings too. Faceplates are big - 123 and 132 mm respectively.

Well- the old TLabs that some say these are knockoffs of weren't exactly small faces either. You know what they say about a tweeter with a big faceplate? It should also have a big magnet.
            Examples:
            MDT33
            TLabs N26
            Motus
            TB 25-1743
            Fostex 33mm
            Audax 34mm
            Seas Exotic

...and now the Peerless, and likely others I didn't mention.

Big magnet (and maybe big diaphragm/dome as well) just equals big faceplate. I guess the DA32 is over 5" deep. Yowza! That tweeter gotz junk in its trunk.

I looked up wavecore and the in the US it lists meniscus as the vendor but you can't get tw030wa11/12. Do you guys get it from Canada?

I've been listening to them for a while myself.

Measurements are very good.  Distortion is very low, all the way down to 1KHz, so you can cross them lower than almost any other tweeter I've ever seen.  And being 30mm, they have quite a bit of grunt for plenty of dynamic capacity.

What Pete said exactly and they just sound great both in a studio type low level near field situation and
in a set to 11 "main" (big ass studio monitor in the far field).

I'm a fan of the Wavecor WA12 also. It measured flat to near 500hz on baffle, making the slope relatively easy to achieve. In my current system it does sound a smidge dark, but along with that comes a nice spaceous sound and lack of grit/grain, hardness etc.

It's not better than a RAAL or something like that in the top end, but it's overall versatility and price to
performance ratio is fantastic! Coming from somebody that sells speakers it's my new favorite.
