The kids cranked the volume to 11 and before it could be turned down, all went silent...something blew. Any ideas of it repairable or just shell out $98 for a new one?

Lepai LP7498E: Repairable or buy another?

My guess is that it may not be repairable, unless the fix is something simple, like a fuse like Psycho mentioned.
I've had one of these go goofy on me, it just gave up and stopped playing. I sent it back under warranty, but the secondstarted occasionally playing two Bluetooth inputs at the same time, before it was shorted out accidentally by the person I gave it to, (not the amp's fault)https://www.parts-express.com/lepai-...upply--310-303
Not sure, but I'm guessing they were not super durable, maybe that's why it was redesigned into the 1601S:
They were little powerhouses when they were working. Felt like quality too. I tried to repair the burnt-out chip on mine and couldn't pull it off, but take a peek under the bonnet and see if anything looks burnt, especially the amp. Here's a link to that 'nice try' if you want a giggle: http://techtalk.parts-express.com/fo...498e-amplifier
