I found replacements on ebay for pretty cheap a while ago. Sorry for not replying. The old dust caps were plastic and the wrinkles were extremely visible.

The secret to using tape to pop out dust covers is to use cellophane tape and pull at about 15 degrees from horizontal. But you will always end up with creased dust cover. So replacement, if there is a cosmetically suitable one, is the way to go. Sounds like you found this out on your own.

Thanks for all the responses. The dust caps are too small and stiff for the vacuum technique which I had already tried previously to posting. And I cant get any tape to work either so it looks like I'm going to have to replace them with some new ones I found on ebay.

For smaller dust caps I use a piece of garden hose. I wrap some electrical tape around it for a snug fit in the vacuum cleaner tube. The rest of the procedure is the same.

Masking tape, painters type. Attach a piece and pull. Repeat as needed. Wrinkles may remain.

Wrinkles WILL remain! Cut em out and replace them. Not hard to do. Not sure if Parts Express sells new dust caps but I’m sure you can find something on eBay.

I have used a vacuum cleaner with good success. Use the round tube without an attachment.

FIRST place it against the dust cap. THEN turn it on and hold it in place for a short period of time (a few seconds). THEN turn it off. THEN remove it from the dust cap.

If you can get someone to help you, three hands are better than two.

If the woofers have vented magnets, then use a straw or long q-tip to push it out. Blue tack could work from the surface.

Ok so I found these at my local Goodwill store and paid a rediculous $5 for the pair. I just couldn't pass up this deal. But there was a hitch.... The dust caps have been pushed in on both which doesn't affect the sound at all. So I'm wondering what the recommended method would be to go about fixing them. See attached. And I must say that these little guys sound pretty amazing regardless of price.
