Come one, come all to a casual, show-n-tell style DIY speaker event hosted by Meniscus Audio and CSS. This is a dual location event taking place Friday September 20th and Saturday September 21st per the details below:
Day One - Friday September 20, 2019 @ 5:00 pm – 11:45 pm
Meniscus Audio
This portion of the event will be held onsite at Meniscus Audio. Bring your latest creation and take it for a spin in the Meniscus listening room or just bring your curiosity and chat in the back with some of the hobby's best designers and newbies alike. Kerry and I will bring a remote controlled demo switcher, built by kenrhodes to finally put to bed the question "do high performance crossover components make an audible difference?" Pizza will be provided and adult beverages may be consumed responsibly. The traditional junk speaker roof toss will occur just before dusk - make sure to get here in time to find cover.
Day Two - September 21, 2019 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Grand River Hotel - Pier 3 Room
This portion of the event will be held in the hotel conference room - a larger venue than years past to accommodate increasing attendance. A slightly more formal version of Friday night's activities, each speaker will be subjected to the 5 minute house demo for comparison and then given 5 minutes to play music of the designer's choosing. All levels of entry are encouraged. We will repeat the upgraded crossover test for those who couldn't make it Friday evening. No food or beverages in the conference room, but the hotel has a restaurant/bar on site for easy lunch/dinner options.
For those here who have never been to an event like this, it is a great way to get in touch with other designers, hear drivers you've never heard, get ideas for future builds, or get good direction if you're just starting out. Don't think you're not advanced enough to attend - just save the dates and show up. Hope to see you all there!
