How good is "Spotify" as a music source?

Use it all the time and find a lot of new music to expand my horizons. Using the standard not hi-def version for the home but may upgrade in the near future. From my understanding, the standard home version is the same as the mobile hi-def. I could be wrong though. To my tin ears it sounds ok but there is a noticeable difference between it and cd.

I use it all the time, pay for premium so I can send to all the network devices at home and stream their high quality setting.
I have no problems with the sound quality on any of my speakers. I'm sure you'd have to do a fast A/B switch to be able to tell against a CD, so not significant enough to worry about.Electronics engineer, woofer enthusiast, and musician.

To me sounds quite good. CD quality? Not really even sure I care, as on its own, it sounds good enough that I do not care to even compare.
I have heard some say it sounds bad, but found that possibly issues with streaming or their internet were more of the issue, that Spotify itself.

I like it very much. As Kornbread mentioned, I have found a lot of new music with it. Cds may be better but I can no longer hear the difference. I subscribe to Premium.
It is very convenient. I am going to get a Raspberry Pi to use as a music server soon.

I don' t stream music but, I am a sound engineer and I have to pay attention to what the streaming services do. Spotify is one of the better ones. Tidal seems to be the best for quality. But of course it depends on the recording, also. For the record, You Tube isn't that bad either. ust depends on the quality of the upload.

Our ADSL is only 5.5-6.5 mbps, too low for streaming video such as Netflix , for example. We supposedly have a "National Broadband Network" but it doesn't work properly!
