  • Jeff Bagby Tribute

Since Jeff passed away I've been in kind of a fog with all of the recent news and his death making it more real to me. Since he freely gave so much to the DIY hobby I decided the best way to honor him would be to share something myself. I'm working on a design that will be available for anyone to build with free cabinet plans and schematics. This will also be part of a fundraiser for the Bagby family. I'm not sure exactly what it will be but one suggestion was a raffle of a completed set of speakers. Once I have more information I'll post it here. It may be awhile since this is being designed from scratch and cabinets have to be made, etc. - you all know the routine.

This is very great news to hear, Rick. Have you decided on drivers and form factor? Glenn.

Nice to hear about this, Rick. Let me know if you need any help.
I know what you mean about the 'fog' too. It was thicker for me when Matt died, but it's still there nonetheless for Jeff. He meant a lot to so many of us.

I'm posting on here just to tag this thread. I am interested in whatever you come up with.
Edit: buying raffle tickets or whatever.

Yes I have decided on the driver combination. I may not divulge the details until I've had a chance to test everything. Since Jeff had already completed many designs I wanted to avoid something that was too repetitive. It will be a different driver combination and possibly not one used by any other builders. I do want to incorporate some of the things Jeff liked to do and one goal is to keep the parts list affordable.

I'll have an open parts list so that you can purchase the kit wherever you wish. I may even ask a distributor to provide a kit with assembled crossovers for those that prefer to just build the cabinets. The cabinet design will be straightforward and not difficult to build. I'm working with Kevin Kendrick and the initial rendering looks really good.

I was going to build a pair of Continuums in the original Maple style, but maybe this instead. Or both, WTH?
