Yeah if I remember right, it runs out of Xmax around 500 Hz LR2 somewhere between 100-105 dB. That's still pretty low because man, this driver is tiny! I think it's a very high performing driver for how small it is. And it looks pretty.

    650-5kHz looks really doable.

The dip around 1.8 kHz is better (smaller) than the factor data on Dayton's website makes it out to be.

It's second order mostly, so it's 'pleasing' HD that is highest. The 3rd order stays a lot lower.

I've spent some time looking for bass drivers that maintain the HD3 at around -50dB from LF cutoff up to around 200-300 Hz. My experience with a driver this small is that you need a state of the art motor like in the E150HE-44, and then it still exceeds -50dB around 90Hz if the published data is to be believed. Alternatively you could use a larger cone area like in the RS225A (which is one of the best 8" around in this regard if I remember correctly) and it exceeds -50dB around 50Hz.

Both of those drivers are vastly more expensive than $12.

I hear what you're saying, and I don't think anyone is claiming these little monsters are state of the art, but they sure dig deep in a small package!

TCP115-4 distortion looks pretty bad. Just like I measured and heard with my quad.

I’d actually tested the RS100-4 a while ago and only just got around to posting the results.
I’ve been curious about and wanting to test the RS100P-8 for ages.

I was surprised it exhibited a 5dB peak breakup (the data sheet indicates it’s a touch smoother), but also surprised at how low HD3 is between 250Hz and 1kHz. Pretty impressive for a driver of this size. It matches the MCM in that regard and has way smaller cone area.

Somehow the PC105-8 is still better above 2kHz, lol. Best budget driver ever!

That RS100 looks pretty excellent on paper. The DA115 looks very good also, I have used both and I actually prefer the sound of the DA115. Probably because of that rise in the upper bass and the dip in the lower treble, I'm guessing.
