I used the recycled cotton sheets to fill my sealed subwoofer cabs.

I also use ceiling tiles to line the interior of the box. Easy to work with, affordable and minimal itching.

Suspended ceiling fiberglass panels are a good source of rigid fiberglass. The white finished surface peels off easily, you don't have to buy a large qty. I've scrounged beat up open box panels at Menard's for cheap.

Type 700 rigid board fiberglass is one of the best damping materials. For instance:
Absorption Coefficient measured against solid wall
Hz ________125_ 250_ 500_ 1000_ 2000_ 4000
1” Type 700_ .17_ .33__ .64__ .83__ .90___ .92
1” Foam___ .07_ .12__ .28___.60__ .93___ .83
The fiberglass used for wall insulation should be avoided.

Yea .... The fibers are no problem .... Don't even make me itch ( Knock on wood )
Acoustistuff does seem more available in practicle amounts .

I like fiberglass for it's well documented adsorption characteristics. In sealed cabinets the small airborne fibers are not issue. I like acoustastuff in ported cabinets and part of layered stuffing.

I have the boxes and drivers .....
I am using the classic 0.707 Qt
( since my driver / box combo is apropos )
Want ideas for optimum stuffing material .

I like the sound of lower Q sealed speakers. It's simple to make the box larger, unless you just want smaller boxes. There are trade-offs, but I find the larger boxes have advantages. The f3 may be higher, but the deeper bass is stronger.

So for a sealed cabinet ......
The end result ( Fc, Qt ) would be equal with either .
I.E.... If stuffed until Qt ~ 0.7 then Fc would be the same with either ?

Fiberglass and Acouta Stuf do the same type of thing but require different densities to create the same result. In TL work Fiberglass density needs to be about 70% of that of Acousta Stuf for the same effects (per George Asperger's work years ago).
