New refurb project - Rega Ela Mk1

    Because the baffle on these are tilted back at about 8.5o the port will start out facing downwards and needs and elbow to allow it to un up the back of the box. Making use of the 3d printer I printed an elbow from two 49.25o sections.

    I wanted to also add a brace to the center of the box in such a tight little cab it also needed to accommodate the port. This resulted in one of the most complicated braces I think I've attempted so far.

    Setting up to use the router to template cut the shape.

      Back to the router to remake the front fluted baffle to match the rega's

      Personally I really like the interplay between the port round over and the fluted baffle as a nice little added detail.

      Putting it all together now for another test fit to make sure everything's lining up

      From here just one more detail to router into the baffle (a very small rabbet where the baffle meets the box) and then I'll glue the baffle on leaving one side off for now so I can test and fine tune the err....tuning!
