Sorry for the late notice everyone - this whole year kind of snuck up on us. CSS and Meniscus will be hosting our annual DIY speaker event towards the end of September. No theme this year or challenge planned, just bring your latest creation to show off and plan on a lot of speaker chat.

Friday night is completely casual and Saturday we'll set up each pair of registered speakers in the hotel conference room and play 5 minutes of house tracks and 5 minutes of builder's choice tracks. Dates and locations below and please register at the Meniscus website if you plan to attend.

I plan to be there on Saturday. But it is hard to register on their site when it is down.

I plan to be there both days. On Friday night I will be demoing a DSP and streaming audio setup. It's two small 2-way monitors with built in/on Raspberry Pi 4 and the HiFiBerry AMP2 hat plus a subwoofer. Uncompressed audio is streamed over WiFi (I will bring my own router for the demo) from a laptop running Ubuntu to the clients. Software based on Gstreamer that I wrote synchronizes playback between all clients. Control and DSP configuration is all done from the laptop. I used this same software at the PE Speaker Design Competition last month but without WiFi clients. The software is very versatile for loudspeaker crossover and speaker setup. I use it to run several systems in my home. If you are interested please ask me about it Friday night. I will likely have it set up in the shop area,

hmm. I wasn't really entertaining the idea but I did take that week off to "work on the house".. The wife would probably skewer me if I do both days. Maybe I could just try for Saturday. Over 10hrs of driving in one day though, ugh.

Change of plans. I will be there friday. I am wondering if bringing my new 12" 2 way will be a good idea in the small listening room. Or if anyone would want me to bring the Dayton 4 instead.
