Is my WT3 hosed?

I'm not sure what the calibration curves are supposed to look like but surely someone here does. I purchased this 10ish years ago off of the PETT classifieds. At that point I'd had a WT2 for years and (mistakenly) thought the WT3 was an upgrade so I got it at what I felt was a good price w/o doing any research. That was also about the same time the Army took over a good chunk of my focus and it sat in the small flat rate box that I received it in until recently. I currently have 3 or 4 things I need to measure with it.

To make matters worse, my laptop runs Windows 10. I'm not the most computer savvy and I had to send several hours digging through old forums (mostly this one) to get the audio setting to function correctly. I'm fairly confident I got that figured out but I've included them in the screenshots just in case.

ASSUMING these curves are in fact wonky, they do look good at least to 100Hz. Would data measured below that point be valid? I need to measure three two subwoofers and a woofer. I also need to measure some inductor values but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that with this.

"impedance" curve is the calibration with the included 1000 ohm resistor (995 ohm actual)
"leads" curve is the calibration with the leads shorted

I'm pretty confident that your WT3 is NOT "hosed" (but somewhere, some setting isn't quite right yet). Your "leads" look VERY close, but your 1kn resistor should be basically "flat" out to 20k. What does THAT plot like if your volume is set to "1", or "99" ?

Will it give accurate T/S parms at its current settings? I have no idea !

I think I got it. After some more inexperienced weirdness I had to do some more form searching. I'm running the DATS V2 software (should've mentioned it) and had do go into Edit, Preferences and change the default from "DATS V2" to "Dats or WT3". The curve you mentioned looks very flat to 20k. The leads test still looks similar to what I posted but if you say it's good then I'm good with it.

The only other thing I can think of is changing the record volume to 54 (weird number). Hopefully that straightens out both your lines for test leads and 1K resistor:

Hi arrond,

It looks like you just need to change the hardware preference setting to tell the DATS V2 software that you are using WT3 hardware.
Open the Preferences dialog (under the Edit menu) Here is that dialog:


Select "DATS or WT3" to fix the issue.
With DATS V2 the hardware was revised to use a newer version of the PCM2900 processor from Texas Instruments.
TI made a change that shifted the inter-channel offset by one sample. That's what gives the notch at 20kHz that you are seeing.
Adjusting the preference will restore the old offset to match the WT3 hardware. Let us know if this gets you going.
