How large a magnet should you use to make "hidden" speaker grille fasteners? This link lists some very small ones.

At what size will they begin to affect CRT TV's?

    I have used these...

Neodymium magnets do not have much of a magnet stray field, so they should not impact your CRT TV.

And it ain't like you'll be able to go too big... I've got some that I thought were kinda puny, and it takes some real effort to pull the stuff out...

I've used 1/4 magnets for the grills I've done (all monitor size 2-ways), and 4 per speaker was enough. If I was doing a big floorstander I'd probably use 8 for each grill or move up to the next size and use 6.

I have held on grilles made of solid Bubinga with 1" sides and top, and about 2" of wood on the bottom at 1" thick, total size 9x22 with 4 magnets, and it works great. The stupid things are almost impossible to get off because they sit flush....

That's what I found when trying to look under the hood of a Klipsh(?) HT - they were flush and tough to budge! AL P
