That looks great! I would be concerned that the thin channel of mdf would split off. Might try this with some ply instead. Thanks for sharing!

I use 1/2" mdf, the grill cloth that PE sells, the grill fasteners that PE sells and screen door piping. The method requires the use of a router table and 1/8" bit to make a 1/8" slot all the way around the backside of the grill. Then stretch the grill cloth around the frame and push in the piping to hold the cloth in place. It really is an easy method.
