Will the Dayton BAGS-G (P/N: 091-1260) accept 10 AWG through the rear (as opposed to the side)? They seem to have a good favorability rating and are on sale!

Re: Banana Plug Question...
I had trouble with sound king 12 gauge I suppose it matters what the strand count and weave is. I like pe's product but to use in this manner is wasting money.(IMO) You give up the rear stack option and the copper gets exposed to air. i still say the 090-465 and 090-460 option is lower cost and can be air tight and the ones on ebay are very good
they are better options if stacking is not needed. if you want to stack the pe ones are best. stacking them is good if you don't want to biamp a speaker. or it you want to add a super tweeter on top.

I am looking for a banana that looks like it came off an expensive cable. What would you recommend of the "beefier" Dayton versions?

Re: Banana Plug Question...
dayton's 091-1260 looks nice. the ebay ones are very nice. i used both of them. the compression 091-330 will expose some of the copper
these cost but are what you really want.
another option are these
I can't say how good the quality is but the look is good. they are a good company. they seem to be a knockoff of the dayton plus which seems to be a WBT knockoff. WBT are big bucks. I just don't know about the ebay quality the price is good and so is the look. the other ebay ones I have hundred and twenty they are very good. I used most of them and they are great. they sell a 12 pack. for 30 plus shipping.
I would hate to say buy them and they dont work well but the price is tempting. I guess it depends on how many cables you are making. 1 set for a pair of speakers just buy the pe knockoff of the wbt's. The cost is 44 bucks. 2 speakers need 8 pieces. (22 for 4) (44 for 8) but if you are making for 5 or 6 or 10 speakers it is a lot of money 110 for 5 speakers. 20 pieces . buy the ebay ones and it is 57 dollars for 5 speakers.

Re: Banana Plug Question...
I use the 091-330 plugs for my cables that use just a standard 12ga cable. They work fine but have a tendency to loosen up a little over time. Its not a problem unless you move them around a lot, and the lower stand count wire i used doesn't help any because of the stiffness. I like that they have a separate chunk inside so it doesn't twist the wire, just compresses it.
Oxidation isn't a problem unless you use ridiculously cheap cable. You won't have a problem with Cat5 corroding."I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Thomas A. Edison
