I have a single RS125 that isn't doing me any good. I bought 2 in the closeout sale but only got one mailed to me... by the time I received the package and called PE they were sold out, forever. So... no microbes for me. I'd be willing to contribute the driver to another so that they can actually build a set (particularly if you are able to pick it up...). Otherwise, I will have to figure something else to do with it... paper weight? knick-knack?
It is a mean looking little driver.

Sent you a PM, I may be able to use the single as a center channel. Anyone have a single they want to move let me know.

    Thanks

Hoping to build a pair of these as rear surrounds to go with Paul Carmody Amiga towers (bought 2nd-hand) and Sunflower Centre (built myself). I might even build a 2nd pair to replace the in-ceiling atmos speakers so all main drivers match.

The RS Microbe was designed for use with the original RS28, not the RST28, FWIW. You may have problems sourcing those wonderful discontinued relics.

I thought I'd found the RS28AS at a local supplier when I posted my earlier reply but they don't even have them listed now. I compared the specs and there are quite a few differences between the RS and RST, meaning the RST is going to have a different/unpredictable sound using the same x-over components... I've found on eBay the Tang Band T25-1166SJ ("J" appended at the end of the model number from the original tweeter design). Would it be a suitable replacement?

If building the original Microbe, it should be virtually the same. The J was added when RoHS compliance was pushed through. That said, it is possible that QC could change driver to driver, but we'd have no way of knowing if they differ from each other or the 1166 used in the original project.

I've just found a thread on another forum which uses the Vifa XT25SC90 tweeter from Paul Carmody's Sunflower centre channel (which I've recently built)...

Still reading it all but noticed some of the images (including crossover schematic) are expired in one of the threads...

I recently emailed Roman asking for assistance with crossover to suit newer drivers and he replied stating he lost all his data years ago in a hard drive failure :(

This came up on my YouTube feed… matching tweeter driver to Paul Carmody’s Amiga…. but this bookshelf uses the paper cone mid driver as opposed to the aluminium cone of the other mid drivers I have. I have only seen one spec difference, being 0.55mH for aly cone VS 0.65mH for the paper cone. I'll have a play around with XSIM to see if it will make much difference with the crossover kit components. (it even has full crossover kit in the description)…
