    Tuning frequency is resonance, yes.

HT is a TOUGH requirement, especially for an 8 inch "sub" with limited Xmax.

A 30Hz high pass would probably be a good thing.

i am trying some different tunings. at just five grams i saw no movement from the pr's, so i put 90grams on. the graph showed that the x-mas of the driver would be the same as the pr's.right? wrong still barly any movment from them. but does sound good.

    thoughts?
You won't notice any movement from the passives until you are putting out signals near the system resonance.

You get 50% more Xmax and a LOT less distortion with the RSS210HF. I still think it's worth it. ;)

    Nice twist, looks very unique!

My Triska does very well for me, but I have a small room, and also no longer care for window rattling SPL, unless I'm at a concert!

    Good work!

You have a lot more real estate there compared to the Triska. Did you take a big hit in max SPL vs. the lower F3? I have 2 of these right now as part of my Aether experiment. They are in old Wharfedale cabinets that are 1.5 Cu Ft, just as Paul specified in his design. They do sound good running as subs, powered with a pair of the old AudioSource plate amps. But then again, I don't like it very loud here at home anymore, so I'm never really pushing them too hard.

Go with the RSS210HF. It's a much lower distortion driver than the SD215. With 1.5 cubic feet, you can make a 16:1 tapered transmission line that would plumb the depths with F3 in the mid 20Hz range. 36" tall, it would make a nice stand for your TM topper. And not having to use multiple PRs makes the extra cost of the RSS easier to stomach.

I like me a good triple sub.

thanks. i watched '12 rounds' last night and it did sound good but really had to turn it down. the little guy just does not have much x-max. i'm going to try a couple of other x-over points and see what i think as soon i i get back from camping. vacation this week.

    later.

4 hours is not enough time to expect a new reply. Please only bump threads once daily.

Looks like nice work, and the higher tuning frequency will probably serve you well with those smaller drivers.

i did with 25 grams. that delivered about 27hz fs but i had to turn it waaaayyyyy down. today i lowered or raised it to 32hz with just 5.5 grams. it move a lot of air. i'll test it better latter.
    thanks for the kudos.
