    Re: New Project

    That's the one.
You might be able to make out some of the etching on the side of the blade, it covered nearly the whole center. It was quite something when new.
I have the same saw and it's one of my favorites. Enjoy it and keep it sharp.

The tops in #15 were from another design I did a number of years ago with only one RS225 under it and the plan was to make a set to match the ML-TL bottoms.

    bobbarkto:
The saw has a tag on that has Disstun Phila written on it. See pic

    Æ:
The openings were covered with 1/2" mdf and then trimed flush.

The first pic is drawing the angle to be cut. The second is setting the guide. In the third I used 3/4" brads to hold the guide in place. I don't have to worry about the holes they made in the baffle because they will be covered with veneer. The forth is making the cut. Since the blade wasn't long enough to cut through the thickest part I had to use a hand saw to finish the cut. The hand saw was my wife's dads, nice rosewood handle very comfortable and does it hold an edge.
So, after you have cut the angles off, you have triangular shaped openings. How did you close or board up the openings? From the inside? With what?
    Thanks

Oh, the horror! That's hand saw abuse!
Please tell me it's not a D-115 Victory saw.

Nice work! I really like the veneer, really gorgeous.

Let us know how it sounds, once you've gotten far enough tweaking the active XO.

    Cheers,

I thought I would get some flack from the wife for there size but, she likes them.
The tops were built the same way as the bottoms. GuitarTom
I was looking back through your thread and post #15 shows a different box for the tops. If you redid them I like the way they look now much better. Nice work.

I have a map of the world that my younger daughter gave me with the intent to spread it out on a cork board and put pins in it everywhere to designate TLs I modeled, but I've just never started. It's not that I don't have the time; I'm just lazy or I soon lose interest in some things, I guess.

What are the advantages over a standard ported enclosure?

What design dou you have for the Dayton Classic 6.5"?

Thanks in advance to your responses.

That's another important "tidbit". I plan on writing up a procedures document that incorporates all these "little items" that often get overlooked.

Very nice work on the veneer! That's some gorgeous stuff.

By looking at the rack of equipment, (DCX, Feedback destroyer, multiple amps) I am guessing that you are tri-amping and adding some EQ?
