Amplifier for speaker testing/garage use

I need to get an amplifier to keep in my garage/workshop that I can use to play music of course, but also test the speakers I am building.
So I do not need an AV receiver, nor high wattage.

Any suggestions? I am also open to the idea of a DIY solid-state amplifier.

Would prefer <$200, if possible.

I got the 4x100 ( http://www.sureelectronics.net/goods.php?id=960 ) and so far I think it sounds great.

i picked up the sherwood 2x100 last x-mas doorbuster sale, for $57. am very happy with it. my shop is just 10x13.

You could also pick up an older receiver on craigslist for less than $50.

I picked up a couple old Harman Kardon amps from the late 70's / early 80's. Great amps, great sonic qualities, usually find'em on ebay, craiglist etc. for $50-$100
