Nice consistency of design.

One thing though, on your 90 angle on the wood brackets, is that just a b u t t joint?

Good catch. That joint is glued and has two kreg pocket screws on each end. The pockets are exposed on the top side.
I am some what concerned with the single screw that goes into the ceiling joist. I think each speaker weights about 20-25 pounds. I wanted to maintain the swivel and tilt ability so I couldn't use multiple screws. Theoretically each screw will hold a couple hundred pounds in withdrawal force so it should be fine. (If not the speaker wires should break the fall.:eek
