This is FUN stuff; over 100 DIYers have "registered" their EconoWave projects, and many times that have been built worldwide....

PCD has it nailed apparently. :p

By the inverse null, tweeter z = -102mm

        "Busy" crossover that sounds good....

700 watt high efficient driver is freaking insane!!! think a carvin amp would be good enough to power this beast?

hmmm... one speaker has a mylar dome and the other a metal dome. i think the bc has the mylar dome. would i notice a huge sound difference between the jbl and emminence drivers?

so... if i want chest thumping solid double kick drum... im gonna need a sub to pair up with these super efficient midrange drivers?

to get a brief idea of where i'm trying to go with this speaker build... click this link and turn the volume up. my budget is $800(says the wife), but i'm willing to splurge a tad bit more. divorce or not... ARSIS will achieve spl nirvana!

Yeah, but you lost that smoothness from 1-3khz and left with a slight response dip through the XO passband......a tradeoff of course so as the designer it's your call.

The two designs sound remarkably similar.

Your PCD tweaker is broken? ;)

The whole dealio is within +/- 1.25 dB. As you're about to see, any listener vertical displacement alters the response in this region. Also, until manufacturing variances are included in the mix, designing any tighter is largely an academic endeavor, aka "spinning one's wheels...."

Post #782 shows the smoothest XO to CD that i've EVER seen posted on the Ewave platform......and in the most sensitive range of my hearing......it's all about the midrange. But as i said no criticizm, it's your call. I would tweak the position of a speaker like that and listen in bliss all day long!

I've seen a lot of Ewave builds where the listener 'knows' where the forward axis is and still places it below the seated listening height.....to each their own i guess. You can only lead the horse to water.

As for my 'mettle', i'll leave that to the dynamic duo who've already commited more of their share of hard work......Bravo Gentlemen......Bravo!:D After spending countless years in different fields not ending with custom motorcycle fabrication, i dare say my brain is overly full and probobly couldn't cope with PCD mettling.

                                Don't stop on my account.
