  • A Massive Collection of Audiophoolery

I consider myself an audiophile to the extent my wallet will allow. I do laugh at some of the absurdities that coined the phrase 'audiophool"

Take a look at 41 pages of the most overpriced witchcraft mixed with some truly high end great products. I think I like the liquid nitrogen superconductor speaker cables the best...

However if you are looking for build ideas, there are some interesting designs here as well.

Sorry it is not in English and to move through the 41 forum pages you need to hit the drop down menu on the bottom left...

No No...I take it back. This gets the award... who would have thought that hanging a couple of ash traos on my wall would improve bass...

There are three types of Dream AC cords:

Dream Preamp (black with blue stripes) - for preamplifiers and AC power conditioners.

Dream Power (black with silver stripes) - for analog power amplifiers, turntable motors

Dream Digital (black with gold stripes) - for digital gear (CD players and transports, digital processors and AD and DA converters, digital and class-D power amplifiers)

The suggested retail price for a 1.5 meters long Dream cord is $2700; $3200 for a 2 meters cord, and then - $1000 for each consecutive meter.
        Really? Really?
Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

I just don't get it... Since when is good gear audiophoolery? Sure there are some items in there that may not be absoulte, but who cares?

If you do not have something nice to say, do not say it.

I still stand by there is a jelousy factor involved, otherwise you could shrug it off.

Funny, this post will get 100 responces, yet relevant audio posts sometimes get zero... Masses are meek? Who knows?

I do not believe in most snake oil, but there are a few very close friends that I have, that do. They are happier than most on this forum with their systems, and I enjoy having some drinks with them, spinning some vinyl, and enjoying their creations.. i.e., their systems. It is a slightly personal gash when these redundant, useless posts take place.

That is exactly how I feel when someone starts talking about Bose or Monster.

Which is why I love the Amazon link I posted about yesterday. Instead of the usual rants and put-downs and my way/highway responses you have hundreds of people choosing to make their point in creatively hilarious ways, which I have to respect, whether I believe aftermarket cables make a difference or not.

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful:
              YES!, December 3, 2009
By Mark H. Cohen (VA USA) - See all my reviews

With this cable I effortlessly: conquered my virginity, hung my next door neighbors dog, came up with an agreeable Healthcare Plan, AND became engaged to Chuck Norris! Thank you Denon!

              P.S. - I'm yet to open a dimensional time rift... =(

Yeah those get my vote too. Some people will defend anything though just so their friends don't look "foolish" :p

                      Worry not, you were . . .

Some choose to see the lunacy part and take a bit of offense for having posted it (and having friends who sign on) and miss your original wording and meaning.

Hey, we all have friends who may be off the deep end, but heck that doesn't mean we can't jam to some Umphrey's McGee, and tilt a few, AND give them some well deserved ribbing. :D

All I have to say is page one is filled with great gear, expensive yes, but worth it.

Having heard the Accuphase DAC and Transport system versus an Oppo Blu-ray recently, it made the Oppo sound bad, and the Oppo performs well above average in its price slot.

SOTA speakers from TAD and JBL very impressive too.
Yeah I built a couple speakers....
