  • Da-115 + 25 Tafc/d Mtm

Ok, so here is the FR plot that I've manged to create for my little project, box will be ~10 liters vented, 2" by 6.5" port, 7"x16" baffle.

I'm nowhere near sure that I did this right, but have a look and let me know what you think.;)

If someone would tell me real quick how to post a screen shot from PCD, I will, to show the parts and offsets for review.

    Thanks,

    Mark

Just hit print screen when looking at PCD and it will capture the current desktop, which you can then paste into Paintbrush. Save it and post it.

You need to model baffle diffraction ripple and baffle step losses. Unless they are flush mounted in a wall.

Also don't forget to ender driver offsets, will affect phase drastically if entered incorrectly. You're screenshots don't show this part of the spreadsheet.

It is difficult to tell from your screenshots alone that you have done anything right, besides the obvious lack of BSC included in the frequency response. All the work involved in getting the frequency response data, phase, and impedance into PCD is most important.

              Now you're cookin'!!!

Do you mean to be so far off the vertical axis?

I'm offsetting the tweeters an inch off centerline, is that too much? I thought I did that part right, but I wasn't entirely sure...

Edit: changed it to 1/2 inch, that will give me more room from the baffle edge...don't know what i was thinking there...

I mean, look at the vertical spinners. Your vertical off axis is set to 16.87 degrees.

That's another good question, I just set the listening height and distance and the program put that in there, can I change that? Should I take those out? Do they matter?

If that is the actual listening height and distance from your tweeter, then your approach is good.

Most designs are typically set to have the tweeter at ear height when listening. In that case, vertical off axis is set to zero. But if you're optimizing for that listening axis, then you have everything set OK.

Just remember that everything you're looking at is relative to the 0,0,0 point, which is your tweeter. The vertical and horizontal controls move the mic to a position relative to the 0,0,0 point. So, set your mic distance to the listening distance, and then adjust the angle to reflect where the ear will be relative to your tweeter when listening.
