  • Build complete...(TB Black Friday special, modeled by JKIM)

I am posting the final pics.

Progress thread can be found here.

All pics for this build can be found here.

Paperbacked maple, Formbys Tung Oil finish, with carnauba/beeswax blend wax polish

These pics were taken under different lighting. Odd that it makes the facing side look so much darker, when in fact its shade is identical to the other sides.

I love this shot.. I think its sexy..

Thanks to JKim for doing the modeling for this design. Currently running them through the song test gamut to get them broken in. Initial impressions are very favorable. They do need a sub though, as they are sealed.

Mine isn't stacked on a receiver, but it is sitting atop a cheap Audiosource Amp100. It just makes sense

Nice looking speaks, CK. Very nice!

How efficient did they model out to (I have a pair of 687's in the closet) ???

Also, awesome work - sometimes I get so involved in the tech stuff I forget compliments : )

What is the finish on the baffles? That looks very classy and understated.

Nice job on the veneer, also!

              Looks great!

Very nice! Your baffles do look really good-like they were shot in a professional paint booth. I'll have to look for that paint! What did you use to seal the MDF?

Impeccable work. Impressive. If you don't mind, would you describe their sound qulity or tonal balance compared to other design(s) you've built?

Very nice work. I LOVE the baffles - some of those close-ups looks like shots from the B&W web site.

I like your Yamaha computer too :D

You might consider building some small stands to get them up off the desk some. From my experience having speakers sitting flat on my desk cluttered up the midrange. I put them on some small risers (you can experiment with books or whatever) and it cleaned things up nicely.

The speakers look nice. I love the clean simple lines and your paint job looks terrific.
