As much as I might enjoy listening to an hour or more of Mahler, some of which is very dynamic, exciting and grand, I don't think it'd be much appreciated by most of the folks. What I will likely play for my personal choices will be several short selections having a mix of music, including symphonic (but no Willie Nelson, or hard rock, or metal, or country, etc.).

If Wolf is smart he will put mine up first thing Friday morning. Maybe use them to test the equipment.

Oh, good. I've chosen about an hour's worth of slow, tedious, boring classical music with lots of operatic singing I'd think everyone absolutely must hear!:p

If it comes to that, I'm sure Shawn and I will make that change.

Whichever music format is chosen, composed of some "required" tracks and some personal tracks, how much time will be allotted for our personal tracks?
Maybe this has been stated already but I can't seem to find it.

I voted for #2. Time is a huge factor and in my opinion, no one song will tell the hole story. Giving the builder some time to show off his/her speakers with songs that they know is also great...

If I were king, I would select the 4 snippets from 4 different types of music. Jazz, Classical, Rock and Roll, and POP/R&B... I have always thought some speakers are great at 2, maybe 3 but not all 4... If it was great at all 4, then it should rank at the top...

But then again, I am in New York and my old Pick-em-up truck is not worthy of such a trip. So until the event either moves to the northeast, or I get a new truck, my opinion does not count....

I think the only voting that was asked for was WHICH songs would be picked

However, it does seem nice to take a poll on the method also.

That is the typical case for events, but snippets can also get boring...
In the voting it looks to me pretty balanced between '4-snippets' and 'reference cut with free for all (as a combo-vote)', Either way, something will happen.

    I didn't vote since I'm not coming...

But I vote for a series of snippets-I'm currently working on a series of snippets for our diy. And, having done it a lot of ways, if there are a lot of units to demo, shorter snippets are just less taxing. You can always go back and demo units that you want later, with additional/favorite cuts.
