Re: 2- Way Bookshelf
First- you can't just swap in a different driver for a design. It doesn't work that way. If you change a part of a design, the redesign will be inevitable for optimum results. Every driver combination requires a custom xover tailored to that particular design. Not that there is not more than one way to do it, as there are many, but a custom solution is always the winner here.
Second-
I think you need to read Paul's FAQ, etc...
That will tell you more on what you can/can't do, and give you more information than you had before.
Third-
The 'New Horizons' by Mike Zisserson (mzisserson) use the ND105-4 with the Dayton ND16. If you want the ND105-4, build those.
If you want the M5n, you can build an adapted version of the 'Mn-14' that I posted above, as the tweeter model has been revamped.
If you want the B4n, use it for the 'OS's'; if you want the M4n, use it for the 'Sophomores'.
Later,
Wolf

Re: 2- Way Bookshelf
Thanks Wolf, Since this is my first build do you think i should use the M5's or the B4N? Also do you think the Dayton ND105-4 will be good for the overnight sensations?

Thanks for the compliment, Mike! Phil Arcario has the Canvas now, so maybe you are close enough to Jersey to hear it?

Re: 2- Way Bookshelf
Follow these threads. They're about as good as it gets.
WWWJD's crossover is impressive.
Crossovers are not too bad. If you can follow a schematic and solder you should be fine.

Ok, Thanks. I WILL NOT USE THE PRE-BUILT CROSSOVER! But I dont know how to build one. :(

Re: 2- Way Bookshelf
OMG, don't even think about that!!!
Build the crossover that Paul designed, and specifies, or 1. they're not the Overnight Sensations; and 2. They'll sound like dog poo.
Please, please, if you don't listen to another comment, listen to this one...
DON'T USE THE PREBUILT CROSSOVER!!!!

Re: 2- Way Bookshelf
If I buy a crossover from Dayton, instead of building one, will there be loss in audio quality?

Re: 2- Way Bookshelf
i swore i saw some projects using it but now after looking it looks like some others. there are some in the project show case using the B4N or other variation driver. just from looking at the predicted F3 of on project this might be what your after.
or could be this one
I have read that some that build this next one. were surprised at that base from such a small driver.
or
then just some other options.

Re: 2- Way Bookshelf
Thanks, this is my first build alone. But my father and I built a 5.0 Set, 3-way towers, 2-way center and surrounds. The B4N looks sweet!
