  • Can't think of a cool title for this one

I'm sure you experts could somehow utilize this during t/s measuring!:p

Would make a nifty colored organ on a cold night.

If dynamite was dangerous, do you think they'd sell it to an idiot like me?

That was frekain neat. I've seen that effect before on video but I didn't know what caused it or that it was so easy to build your own. I might have to make one of those for tunes on the 4th of july. ;)

Instead of 2" PVC, I could use something a little bigger. I have an old 18" sonotube pipe in the basement that seems to be sealed up pretty good with nice bracing, foam and a 15" subwoofer. But I've always wondered about standing waves in that beast.

I got off work a little early, so tonight I'm going to pump it full of propane and light a match at the mouth of the port. That should let me know if I have any standing waves or not. I did put acoustic foam at the ends and people told me it would be good enough to control standing waves, but I've never been convinced.

He drilled a bunch of small holes every 1/2" or so. My port is a 4" so that should be big enough. I think it's tuned to 18hz. I guess after I pump in the propane, I hold the flame over the port and play any lower frequency? I'll head down and test it out right now. Can't wait to see the dancing flame coming out of the port. Okay, calm down, I'm not really gonna do it! You didn't really think so did you?

In California, we're only allowed to have gas fireplaces. This would be an interesting modification to my fireplace!

I'm impressed. How cool a pair of those would be in a game room! Just the thing to really get the party started!
