The user guide states that the board has a dip switch for gain adjustment. I'd probably throw a 10k in front of it and see what happens.

thanks for that link. i found one in england. the pot plus a knob for $21, but they needed a higher minimum order. then i found another site that had it plus a 35mm knob but the website went down. i'll check it out.

Do you have a local friend that can help you figure it out? Wiring up a pot is one of the easiest things you will come up against as a DIYer and at this point I am afraid that you might burn something up or get hurt.

maybe someone else that bought the sure amp will chime in.
              thanks for responding.

Get hurt? It's a pot. A solder bubble down the webbing between fingers is nothing more than an educational experience. Here; I doodled up an Alps.

                Not much to it.

so this is just inline with the speakers? i thought i read that a slow blow fuse was a good idea, what amperage? inline on the dc input? as far as ajusting the dc volts, just attach my volt meter to the output and ajust, or do i need to do it while the amp is engaged?
also, i have a 12v lighted rocker switch, will this blow if i put it inline with the dc power or do i need a ac switch to put before the power supply?

no these are used in your line level path.

rca jack /pot /pcb board input.

they will burn up if you go

pcb board output/ pot /binding post

the input part on the pot drawing goes to the positive lead of the rca jack and the output of the pot goes to the positive lead on the pcb input

Arlis, If you place your power supply inside a case you can splice an ac power switch and fuse on the ac side in the case. I would think that your power supply already has a fuse inside it, remove the cover and check. I'm not sure what you mean by " in line with the speakers". If you mean the pot it's wired from your source output to the board input. Here's a pic with an input cap mod of the Sure board.

its like phil said. i was thinking output side but know i know input side. what is the reason for the caps? what rating for the fuse?

I think the cap mod helps with reduction of turn on pops.

Changing the input cap is done to improve the sound quality. The Sure 2X100 originally comes with a 1.0uf ceramic chip cap bypassed with a .1uf film type for the input signal coupling. The mod as pictured from Audiofirst shows one way to install a larger, better quality cap and a pot. A larger value cap can be chosen to further extend the bass but turn on thump will increase as to the higher value of the input cap. Upgrading to a 1-2uf foil cap such as the excellent Obligato makes a big improvement in the sonics. I use three Dayton foils.
