That pics hard for me to read Arlis. Looks like they want to know what your outputs measure at the speaker terminals on the board. I'm not sure how you can get that with a fried board. Email them and ask specifically what they want you to test and for what reason.

i plugged it back in power output still at 32. showed no output on speaker outputs. the green light did come on and so did the fan for about one turn. with everything off ohm meter showed all zeros with every possible combo of input to output.
ill continue to work on the waranty but went ahead and ordered another. i will install a fuse. i did do a search as you suggested but, did'nt learn anything. maybe phil will chime in ithink he knows what i need.

They want you to measure volts from the speaker terminals to ground with the amp running. It should be about half the supply voltage on each terminal. You already smelled the smoke so I'm sure the output chips are blown and they usually take the driver chip with them which is why the shared 5v for the fan tries to start, then gets pulled down.

that sounds right. got all zero's. tried again this morning with input from cd. low squeal and a big pop when i turned it off. this with volume down. i sent pics of all these functions, so we'll see. thanks.

                well smoke is a bummer.
not quite sure what you did.
it reads you had it working then you rewired the switch and it blew up.
did you blow up the amp or the power supply.
                sounds like the amp.

thats correct phil. i watched the little mushroom cloud. i never did get the switch to interurpt power, just pass through. maybe ill try somthing that costs more then 3 bucks. perhaps i did send a spike some how but it never read more then 32 vdc on the output. your thoughts on a dc fuse?
btw, the only reason i turned the ps that way was to help ventilation.
it did sound nice for a hour. cant wait to get it back up.

                      these will handle 32volts from

                      1 to 40 amps I would buy a lot

                      3a
                      4a
                      5a
                      7.5a
                      10a
                      15a

better they blow then the amp board. most likely 10a is the right one but i would work my way up. I don't really know why the first amp board smoked itself.

they have fuses that will handle 32vdc? ill look at it tonight when i get home.
                        thank you.

Fuse ratings are in amps (current not voltage). Voltage ratings are typically not meaningful or insignificant, at least as long as the rated voltage is not exceeded.

so dc is dc whether they be 12 or 32? so long as there not ac rated?
to be honest, i think i might have touched the case input hot to the case on the power supply. if so then it surly sent quite the shock to the board. when i get the new one i will insert a fuse and protect the terminals on the input.

Now that you see how fun chip amps are, I suggest that you revisit the LM3886 "gainclone". You can buy them assembled, as mono boards without onboard power supply, for around $15/channel shipped. Build a simple linear power supply and you will have more power and cleaner output than the class-D amp that you have now.

got an assortment of 6 different amps, and an inline holder for about 12 bux. littlefuse via amazon.
