  • Another one off the unemployment line.

Well folks, I'm off the dole. FINALLY! I had my final interview Wed. morning which went amazingly well. I start next Tuesday, bright and early working for Belden Wire and Cable. I'm not sure what all duties I'm gonna have but the foot is in the door now and I'm at least going to have a rather nice paying job until I decided to do something else or be somewhere else. Life; it's looking rather alright at this moment.

Thanks Pete. I really hope you find something soon too along with all the other non-gainfully-employed people here. It was a looooooong 10.5 months for me and I was starting to get a bit stir crazy from being home so much.

I use all Belden 1701A twisted pairs for my digital, pre, and line level cables. A great company to deal with.

Good luck with the new company, hopefully it turns into some good for the long run.

Congratulations Shawn! Productivity is very rewarding on a personal level as well.

Week Four of "My Unscheduled Summer Vacation" is coming along nicely and I should have asked them to unschedule me months ago!!

I'm rebuilding the Eros MK II's that were my first DIY in 2005. Adding all the knowledge gleened here and through trial and error. They're getting wrapped in a pretty piece of mahogany that I'll tint a shade to the red side.

One other thing boys, don't get all worked up - that's a vanilla creme soda bottle in the background...I save the margaritas for later in the evening!

Pete, what type of DB work, and which DB(s)? There are always people looking for DBA's.

So, I guess this puts an end to the beach bum summer, huh. Aah well, work is good, both is better - Let me know when you've earned some comp days and the spare room is yours buddy. Congrats!

Glad to hear that! There's still some companies who expect to be around for awhile. Got a big roll of Belden cable out there for custom interconnects. We'll all have to buy more...
