I have no idea what the low pass is, if there is one.

This is just what the doctor ordered for the little experimental sub I built several years ago that operates on the Bose Wave Cannon principle. The sub was slim and compact, but the need for a cumbersome external amp made it impractical for my sister's apartment. This little guy should be perfect for the tiny sub and the matching set of satellites.

What's the crossover frequency on the Lepai?

Does it have a functional sub crossover? Also, do you have any pictures of the innards?
Not an official xo... One can be approximated using the tone knobs.

i never did any measuring to confirm, and i haven't yet hooked anything up to the ".1" channel (so i don't know about a lowpass), but to me it sure didn't seem like there was any highpass on the 2 main channels.

A 2.1 amplifier? As in two channels plus sub? I've never seen such a beastie - do you have a link?

I also bought a lepai 2.1.It came with a 12v 1a power supply for $16/shipped. Good deal for what it is.

Impressions. With the stock 12v 1a PS the sound is severly limited. With a 12v 3a PS, the sub has much more oomph. It sounds great, for the price. The mains could be a lot cleaner and will likely suffer if the efficiency is low and or no sub/crossover is used.

I believe that I can approximate a true crossover from the mains to the sub by dialing the "bass" knob all the way down. This only affects the mains on my amp.

This is likely to be fairly useful for small rooms or computers. The sub option is the selling point.

    Thank you, Chinese eBayer.

Now, what to do? Build a cheap, fully active 3-way speakers? Each of the amps has three channels of power...

Nice to see the shoe on the other foot. Usually, if there are customer service mistakes, the customer is last served! If you get another one anytime soon, you have the makings for a 7.1 set up!
