Including me, I know of 3 DIY'ers on the island.

There are at least two people on the board from Philly... I'd consider coming up if I didn't have to work.

Where are you in NY? if in the city, any parking?

I have a 1400ft2 woodworking shop in Brooklyn Navy Yard. Plenty of free parking, 24 hour security.

If it was a large enough event, I would make the 3-3.5 hour trip from lil' Rhody with some wares.

well, the space is large enough for 15 or so people to be comfy. If someone want's to make a list (basically do all the organizing) of people who wants to come, may be a yahoo group or similar, I'll take care of the seating.
I am in a middle of the job now so the possible gathering should be planned for the end of July or beginning of August.

This is a great idea and sorely needed in our area. I am definitely interested and would be coming from Northern Westchester. I could bring a few projects along, from published designs and/or my own.

Let us know when you have a more definitive time in mind...I'll be praying I don't have some other obligation or clash!

Thanks to FACE for letting me know about this thread. I work in Brooklyn so I vote for week days... just kidding... The 14th or 21st sound good for me. The 14th may be better as late August is usually when my busy season starts... I can probabaly drag my speakers with me and a Threshold S200 amp if needed... Since my living room has horrible acoustics, I am looking forward to hearing these some where else...

Is it a cigar friendly work shop?

I can donate web space as long as no one minds the link being www.pirateacoustics.net/XXXXXX (XXXXXX being whatever name we want). I am probably going to change that site over to a DIY showcase since I havent sold anything in a couple of years...
