So far, I'm only using one of these since the second cabinet isn't done yet, and I have to say I am VERY impressed with the sound coming out of this one driver.
My father in law will be using these on a two channel amp and I know for a fact he will be nothing but truly impressed. The sound stage is quite incredible. Its incredible to believe that these are only two 4" drivers. Even with only one of these in a 350 square foot room, it fills the entire room with very detailed, excellent sound and enough bass presence to not need a sub.
That being said, I still have to hook up the second.
I just played Rag Doll by Aerosmith and definitely hit over 110db to the point where it was uncomfortably loud. I can't even imagine what two of these will sound like, but I'm sure they will be nothing short of epic. Finishing the second one will be the first thing I do tomorrow when I get home from work.

I'm going to have to adjust the height of the mtm to fit where the nano neos sit in these pictures and increase the depth to make up for it... as long as volume stays the same it should be fine right?
This shows the ceiling height and the amount of hard surfaces/glass for sound to bounce off of in his living room. Any ideas for sound treatment in the room?

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
Mattress pad foam from wallyworld works and they have spray adhesive and open 24/7. I was going to experiment with adding a small amount of polyfil to mine however apparently I put the drivers in a little too soon and the gasket on the woofers has sealed to the paint and I haven't yet gotten the courage to pop them out. I'm afraid I'll screw up the paint. I will have to get them out eventually as my connections to the drivers weren't soldered yet but just bare wire wrapped around the terminals! So things sometimes become more permanent than you think they will!

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
Yeah I guess I could do that but Chris R. just lined the inside of his with kangaback carpet. I think stuffing would act like increased volume and mess with enclosure size.
The wife won't let me cut her yoga mat into squares; what up with that?
You're right though, I don't want to skimp now after almost a month of work on these.

Eric..Wouldn't you still have room to put, at minimum, some stuffing through the driver holes at a later time? I would think you may want to get the clear answer to this before you button these up (You are impatient... JUST LIKE ME! LOL). It would be such a shame to spend that amount of time on this project and not have them sound exactly as you want...
Good Luck bud.. Chris

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
What are the negatives if I DON'T line the box with foam/padding/carpet pad/carpet/cat hair, etc...
I don't have a single thing around the house to line with and I really want to button the last panels up tonight.
Will this kill performance or affect anything??

Sounds good extreme! Will set to work soon on the mtm for my dad. I brought the nano neos over to his house and even in his living room (ceiling goes all the way up to 2nd floor and the layout of the house is very open. Ie living room is effectively huge) they sounded fantastic. He is going to love the mtm version! Would love to see a finished pic of your pair in good lighting so I can appreciate the artwork on them.

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
I finished the second one last night and had a listen to both. I couldn't believe the sound. These sounded better than the RM40T's I bought a while back, and those have a $1150 MSRP. The staging is excellent, and every detail is perfectly reproduced. Nothing short of spectacular. I kept forgetting that my sub was turned off. I ran a few bass tests tones through these and they can definitely play musically down to 32hz. My wife said these sound like my car in regard to bass output. I seriously had to check my receiver's settings 3 times to make sure my powered sub was off.
The details are very good, the response is very flat with no undesirable peaks, and they sound VERY large. The sound fills the room and with such elegance and accuracy that you really have to hear them to believe it.
My only gripe is that they're not very sensitive by nature so you have to crank up the volume to get them a bit louder, but that doens't bother me as they get PLENTY loud when you push them and have absolutely no distortion at high levels.
I so don't want to give these away. I'd rather scrap my entire Polk Audio Monitor 40 based home theater and use these two instead, but I built them for my father in law so I have to give them to him tonight. Can't wait to see the look on his face.

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
XO's done... utililized all of the space I had available on the removable bottom. Shape is due to the inside of the enclosure having wedges so as to secure the bottom panel... The one on the right was my first go round.. Learned a bit for the second one (placement). Boxes will not be done until the weekend..and I won't even be here to assemble them!! (will be at wedding 300 miles away..ughh) Finished photos will have to wait till the beginning of next week...I'm a bit impatient.. if you couldn't already tell ..lol

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
My progress update:
Glued up boxes (all but one side per cab)
Finished wiring up crossovers with input and output lines
Mounted crossovers to center brace
Installed drivers in one cabinet and wired up to "test" for a few days
__________________________________________________ ___
I can't really give an accurate review of the sound yet, as I've only listened to these with the side panel off and nothing lining the interior of the cabinet yet. I'm impressed so far. I let this one play at low levels all day yesterday and it's playing at home as we speak in the shop. I wanted to break them in a bit before I take the drivers out and finish.
I used 14 gauge wire (bought 6 feet of black, white, red, and green) from Lowes. It was a bit stiff but worked out OK. My ugly soldering skills were tested while getting everything connected.
I had to buy some insulated terminals from Radio Shack. They didn't have any small enough for the tweet terminals and that small terminal on the ND105. I used the larger ones and crimped them to the terminal for a tight connection.
Ordered several of the 48 cent press fit terminal cups from PE. Should be here this week.
Pics are building on the camera. They will eventually surface.

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
Well...finished the enclosures tonight. Got the port and terminal cup situation lined out...the outcome wasn't perfect, but it'll work.. (pics attached). The only thing left to do is to install the hurricane nuts for the bottom to be removable, waiting on the glue on the corner wedges to dry to drill those out tomorrow afternoon. Should be able to get these to my buddy late tomorrow and he thinks he can squeeze them in (finish on the cabs) and have them back to me by the end of next week. Will give me time to build the XO's.. the corner blocks for the bottom plate killed my space for a larger xo board, but, such is life! I've really enjoyed this build so far, couple minor mistakes, but much smoother than the last few. I've spent (too) much time on the forum and have learned many "tricks" to getting the results I've wanted and can't thank everyone enough for sharing all of these methods..
Thanks ~ Chris
