Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
I've never stuffed vented boxes. I just line most interior walls (within reason) with something like Wal*Mart's "mattress topper" (convoluted foam).

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
I'm finally finishing these tomorrow. My dad and I built 4 towers and two center channels for the ntn's. I know the design is not optimized for this but our setups will put us pretty much on axis with the tweeter. My only question is this: how much stuffing was used in the enclosures? Can we get away with just a few ounces in each cabinet? The external volume of all of the cabinets are pretty much to spec.
Thanks again for this design. I'm glad I can finally finish them. These may be the last speakers I build for several years.

pm reply (brief - unnecessary expense, since the tube fits in there fine)

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
You can probably substitute 1 or 2 PRs for the vent. You will want to check the excursion on the PR. The travel needs to be greater than the nd105s to work.

I would like to do a set of five to use as surround sound for my pc so would prefer the enclosure as small as possible.

Build them. Even at the higher price than when Chris originally contributed the design, they still offer tremendous value.

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
No problem.
I rear-vented using 2-1/2" PVC "conduit" (from Lowe's electrical), 9" long. It's actually more like 2.4" id.
If you can't find it, you COULD go 2"d x 6", but I'd keep the vent on the rear then for sure, otherwise the larger one can easily go on the front if you like.

Re: on Sale - $55/pr (drivers & XO)
i've looked through this thread a few times now. i just want to double check i've got me measurements right on the ntn tower. 6w 24h 11.5d ? is that correct? i'm going off the size you listed in a post that you used at a diy meet i believe. i've started cutting and decided to go to 11.5 deep since you also in that post said the size was a little smaller than the original plan had called for.
im not sure if you answered my question in post below chris?Last edited by tashspop; 11-01-2012, 07:52 AM.
