  • porter cable router bit deals

for anyone who missed that tooliday sale on the 7/8" roundover bit the other day, here's another pretty good deal on it. little more than it was at tooliday, but still a whole lot less than you'll find a 7/8" bit for anywhere else.

also, a full 1 incher, for a couple bucks more...

That 1" roundover bit looks nice-especially for the price, I'd like to pick one of those up. I wonder how much hp a router would have to have in order to do the full 1" roundover in MDF in 2 passes? Wondering if my router has the guts.

    I have this one:

Think it'll spin it okay? I have no idea what 2 hp 'peak' means, not much I guess. It does have decent power, though. It turns my 3/4" roundover bit well. I can do the full roundover in about 2 passes in MDF if I take my time.

    Thanks for that link, absolootbs!

my 11 amp craftsman (only 1 more amp than your ryobi), can do a 3/4" on mdf in one pass, so i would think that using 2 passes, that router should be fine for 1" radius.

if it's the 1 incher that you're interested in, i just noticed that mlcs has theirs on sale for $30 currently. depending on shipping, that might come out a little cheaper.

Please note that the maximum RPM for 5/8 and 3/4 bits is 14,000 RPM, less I believe for these monster bits (7/8 or 1 inch).
