I look forward to seeing this finished system. It's fresh to see something that isn't a 5.25-7" 2-way, using increasingly expensive drivers.
I like 3-ways, and I think a well designed 3 way, even if they use standard quality drivers, can be fantastic, as long as you get the midrange right.
Even the most advanced 6.5" midwoofer is no match for an ordinary 10" woofer, and if you want full range behavior that gives 105dB in room (concert/near-realistic levels) a 2 or 2.5way, even using $200 midwoofers and $300 tweeters isn't going to do it.
I just did a shopping list- just $200 for 6 drivers. Nice!
