  • 3 way design project.

    Hello everyone, how you all doing?
    would these 3 drivers work in a 3 way design?

    SB Accoustic neo tweeter (T26aff5neoB)
    spec: 60 watts, 4 ohm, 2500hz-100khz, fs=1306 hz, 93 db, qms=7.36, qes=3.04, qts=2.15, Voice coil dia= 26mm

    Mid= Mark Audio CHR-70
    4 ohm, fs=70 hz, sd=50sqcm, vas=3.61, qms=2.83, qes=0.84, qts=0.65, spl=85 db, xmax=4.5mm, re=3.6 ohm, coil=21mm

    bass= Tang band w57-1781 (5x7")
    Specifications: Power handling: 50 watts RMS/100 watts max *VCdia: 1-1/2" *Impedance: 8 ohms *Re: 7.2 ohms *Frequency range: 40-500 Hz *Fs: 40 Hz *SPL: 87 dB 1W/1m *Vas: 0.92 cu. ft. *Qms: 2.12 *Qes: 0.30 *Qts: 0.27 *Xmax: 3 mm *Dimensions: A: 5.20" x 7.72", B: 4.75" x 7.25", C: 3.27".

    tweeter and mid will be in a separate encloosure of about 8 liter sealed. bass wooofer will be in a sealed enclosure of about 22 liter.
    what would be an ideal crossoover point for this project?
    Can somebody simulated this and see what it turn out?

    many thanks to all you experts !!!

    Re: 3 way design project.

    I'm not exactly familiar with those drivers, but assuming the TB spec sheet is correct you're going to want to cross before that 500hz impedance/FR wiggle.

    I'd say a 250-300hz LR2 cross between the woof and mid would work. That Mark Audio can go pretty high obviously, it's designed as a full range. So I'd personally start my design process by targeting LR2 slopes between the tweet and mid as well, you'll just need to know data for the tweet to appropriately choose that point ... I can't find any info on that tweet?

      thanks for your respond, but i made a mistake on the tweeter, it's a Max Fidelity T26affneoB available at www.solen.ca
