    Dave,

Haven't been able to rummage threw the shed yet, gets dark before I leave work. I will try to venture out there with a flashlight just to at least get some pics for you.

Ok, take your time. I have everything I need to put them together, so your not holding me up.
      Thanks

Until you added the roundovers, I didn't see how it looked like an engine. Now this thing looks amazing. I believe that's the sign of a good designer- one that can see the light when others don't even know what it is. Really impressive so far, and it looks cool. Sometimes "original" designs are unique, but look like crap. Yours is original and looks good at the same time. Keep posting, it's an awesome build.

Thanks, As mentioned earlier in the thread it was taking on the look of a Briggs. Not knowing Harley motors and having several mini bikes back in the day, it has influenced the shape quite a bit. I think doing the twin cylinder may have saved it. As I had mentioned before I don't want to cross the line that it looks like I put speakers in an engine. I just want it to take on the look of one but still look like a speaker. I think the key is to not get to much into detail. I think I am going to paint it satin black and maybe, if I can find any, put some chrome on it somewhere and call it a day.
Oh, I have decided to build a small base and put the crossover in it. Unfortunately I don't see one on the Harley motors. I was thinking on the lines of what a Briggs has. :o

Do a paint job that shows hints of rust!

              That would be so cool.

I have actually been contemplating something like that. I was thinking more on the lines of silver lightly brushed on the corners, edges and maybe the edges of the fins, If I end up with them. Hadn't thought about rust though. I could easily add that as well. I guess the down side is it sounds like a really cool idea but in reality may end up looking like crap. I'll do some samples when I paint and see if I can come up with something that looks good. That's more on the lines of what I am after. More artsy than a perfect replica.
                Thanks for the idea.

Now if I can get flames coming out of the ports. Hmmmm.

Ruddy brown could be your primer, and sand through in some places...
I know there is a spray-paint that is a rusty brown though. It's to look antique.

Stick a few LEDs inside the port that light up in sync with the woofer.

that's pretty awesome, even if the picture you're using isn't a Knucklehead

                          More progress

                          Base cabinet from the front.

Base cabinet from the rear with DC160 mounted.

Tweeter/ mid cabinet. With tweeter mounted from the rear I was able to get the spacing closer. Also makes the tweeter not look bigger then the mid because of the face plate on the tweeter.

I think I am going to use the rear half of the upper cabinets to bring the ports up through and out the sides like on the engines I have looked at. I am going to pic up two 1 1/4" chrome drain pipes with a 90 degree bend today.

                            Dave- that looks really cool!

Just a thought if not too difficult- I would use a 'xover on a stick' methodology, and maybe make it like a removable-cam from the rear. Undo the 2 or 3 screws, and 'pull out the cam'. :D

That is a cool idea. Unfortunately I really don't want to take up the room inside the cabinets. I was planning on putting them into a base. I was waiting to see how much room they were going to take up first though.
