Any chance your "Blades" will be making an appearance? I'd love to get a listen to the speakers that inspired me to build mine.

They came last year, so I doubt he's bringing them again.

As I recall last year, they even had a sale on the rooms that month, so it was less than that per room (reportedly).

I've not inquired about a group reduced-rate for those attending, as it would probably be more trouble than it was worth.

I used to work in the Hotel industry - the sales managers are usually willing to give hefty discounts to on-site meeting participants. Probably best to work with the person you booked the meeting rooms with.

Wolf, like I said, keep me in mind. Can make Ft.W. in 2 hours. By then I'll have my various projects polished and would just love to have some trained ears and devices poking at them to see whether there's some hard evidence these are different. I might ask for a little leeway with equipment, as mikes and mixer are needed for checking out the PA with acoustic guitar (anyone can make an electric sound like anything given the gear), but mine's all portable.

I believe the idea of sponsorship and a DIY event kinda have to equal door prizes, so yes- there will be some since we have sponsors.

I new here but I am planning to attend. I am planning on building a CJD Khancenter and CJD In-Khan-Neatos in wall speakers for my home theater. Would there be interest in me bringing those?

We'll have to see how it goes. You are welcome to attend, and I added you to the attendee list. Being that the front of the room is usually crowded with gear, it depends on how we set it up. I have an idea about how to make this better arranged this year, and it could be possible I suppose.

The center channel is kinda a weird thing to bring, as we usually can't sum to mono to get all the sounds where they need to be. If you are okay with listening on a left or right channel in singly, then bring it, or just bring it so others can see it.

PS- for those wanting a room at the Hyatt, you can tell them you're with the 'DIY Speakers' group if you like. I do not believe there is a discount on rooms for attendees.

Actually- the 'wall' thing has been done! Marvin brought in-wall Modula's to Iowa 2007, in a portion of a mocked up drywall and stud wall. I thought that was pretty cool...
