Bracing adjacent walls - And has anyone tested different braces?

I am building a sub box for an old TB-740c. It uses a slot type port that braces the top. So to my question - Will a brace that goes to an adjacent wall work? (think triangle) How much difference is there between a window pane brace and other types. Has anyone tested different braces for effectiveness?

i suspect that a window brace is best. perform a rap test. listen for renasounse. always place braces at odd distances.

The picture below left shows how braces are most commonly done. The picture below right is 50% more effective using 33% less material. Yes, I have tested them.
