I've been using a cheap carbide tipped alternate top bevel blade I got at Harbor Freight, it works just fine for cutting MDF and plywood, the blade has a little bit of wobble, only a few thousandths though which I consider acceptable.

Freud blades from home depot are really nice if you're not one to trust Harbor Freight quality tools, for cutting MDF and plywood I don't see a reason for spending big money on a high end blade.

I really like the CMT 60 tooth I got from Lowes. Very little runout and cuts glue ready lines every time. It's also the quietest cutting blade I've seen, guess that's due to the teflon coating that's on it.

Forrest is nice of course, but I doubt anybody is going to spend more on their blade than they did on the saw.

I think this is the one I got last time. http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...Id=51868100714

Better then some of the cheaper ones I've used, but I wasn't going to spend the money on a pro blade for a part time hobby.

I agree w/the Forrest Wood Worker 2. Make sure you get the .1 inch kerf blade and order the blade stabilizer with it.

Forrest makes great blades for hardwoods. If you don't want to break the bank and get a blade that will last for years check out the sale prices on these:

The AMANA 610600 or 610601 will be all the blade you'll ever need for sheet goods. Less than $60.

I agree with the others that recommend the Forrest, it is a nice blade, and I always stick with the .125" kerf as it will not heat up as fast as the thinner blades. Yes, you do eat up more wood, but the difference in runout is worth it to me. My personal blade of choice is a Ridge Carbide. It goes through MDF like butter, and cuts a polished line on oak. Had mine for 5 years and still haven't sent it back for sharpening...and I cut a lot of wood.

That's similar to my question about blades.
I don't do that many builds per year. A fine edge would help me make
                    better boxes. Should I get a 40 or 60?

I kept burning out / wearing out cheap blades so my dad got me a blade meant for cutting metals. It cuts through mdf like butter and its just as sharp as day one .

Another vote for Forrest. Well worth the cost, IMHO.

I bought a Freud diablo from amazon that was recommended for cutting pre-veneered items. It gave me unreal cuts with no chip out and was waaay better than the blade that came with my saw which was the best blade I had used.n

I'll second and third the Freud Diablo blade suggestion -- I got mine from Home Depot at a very reasonable price, compared to the premium blades advertised elsewhere. I'm going to take a look at what Lou recommended, as soon as the website is back up.
